Head of Technical
The purpose of this role is to Engage and Excite with Class Leading Autocare Products. PIP Chemicals Limited creates bespoke, retail ready, autocare solutions which we supply to ambitious, direct to consumer, brands. We aim to Brighten People’s Days when they work with or for us and the new team member will be central to our business.
PIP Chemicals is a small, lean and growing operation. Within the business, our people are multi-functional and get involved wherever needed. This particular role involves both managing the processes and also making a large contribution to making them happen. This is not a corporate role where you delegate all jobs out, you will often be key to actually carrying out many tasks, whether that is creating a new formulation, making improvements to the quality processes or investigating regulatory obligations. You will have the opportunity to be hands on grow your expertise, across the company technical functions. You will have the opportunity to improve the company activities and grow the technical team, as and when it is needed.

Responsibilities and Experience
To achieve this, the Head of Technical will be responsible for:

| 1. Development of new products | · Identification of performance requirements and potential chemical solutions
· Creation of new formulations · Testing of formulation performance |
| 2. Fulfilling samples for customers | · Communication with customers
· Blending of chemicals · Following recipes and procedures |
| 3. Regulatory compliance and quality standards | · Understanding of the basics of chemical regulation
· Understanding of continuous improvement applied to maintaining and improving quality |
| 4. Ensuring downtime is minimised | · Maintenance of laboratory equipment, chemical stocks and cleanliness |
| 5. Resource Management | · Working within and managing a small technical team |

Relationships
The Head of Technical will report to the General Manager and work closely also with the Head of operations, with the three forming the company Management Board.
Role Specifics
The salary for this role is up to £45,000 per year. It is based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland and it is expected that, whilst flexibility exists, a large portion of each working day will need to be on-site.
