As winter approaches, it is not only us who feels the cold – chemicals do too!
Unlike water, many of the critical raw materials will become solid and freeze, at temperatures well above zero degrees Celsius. To maintain operational effectiveness, it is important to maintain the storage areas at a suitable temperature. Typically this is achieved using low tech, high powered hot air blowers. As you can imagine, in an environment where large shutters are frequently opened, this is highly inefficient.
As a result, PIP Chemicals Limited has invested in a radiant heading solution, which heats the materials directly, rather than via circulating air. This approach will save significantly on the amount of heat lost, hopefully saving money and being less environmentally unfriendly.
